I cant believe it is FEBRUARY already!! I started writing this blog post back at the beginning of Jan, but had problems with my computer uploading photos, so after a few hours of frustrated words, I gave up. Then life got busy, real busy, and I haven't had a chance to get on and finish it up. So now I am finally finding time, I thought I would update you all on my crafty adventures!<br />
<br />
Christmas was, as always a really busy time for us, we spend the whole time driving from family member to another, I managed to squeeze in some homemade Christmas gift, though a lot less than I wanted to.<br />
<br />
First I finished the Rag Quilt and let me tell you this beauty was REALLY hard to give away<br />

My sister was the lucky recipient, She also got some cute Peter Alexander PJ's so she can sit under her cuddly quilt in her new PJ's! </div>

We all met up at my sister house Christmas Eve for our traditional dinner, and I wanted to take something nice along, I found this on pinterest, so decided to give it a go..... Bit of a failure...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used royal icing to cover the cardboard cone, but I don't think I let it set for long enough, because all the strawberries were falling off. the other weird thing that happened was the strawberries "leaked" heaps of juice.... I have never seen them do that, maybe it was just too hot... My tip is to not do this when strawberries are $5 a punnet.... I used about 5 punnets here!</div>

A friend of mine had her baby girl, and being that she isn't a "pink" person, I decided that I would use the same fabrics I used for the cushion to make a pram blanket, It also helped that all the little squares were already cut out! I forgot to take a picture of the finished project, but here is a pic of it on my sewing machine</div>

OOOO and when I returned to work after the Christmas break, I got the chance to help out with a project my local youth centre was running, we helped a bunch of kids design their own t-shirts and then screen print them! it was so much fun! So then I decided that I would like to do some screen printing of my own, I went of to the shops to buy all the gear, and was totally shocked with the prices! so after a bit of googling, I found a tutorial on making my own screen! $8 and 20 mins later I had it finished, sooo easy!<br />

Oh and of course my hubby... we have made a pact this year, we are buy each other stuff for our back yard for Christmas, 3 years of it being a sand pit is enough! I am buying him a wheel barrow, and he is buying me a Tree! <br />
<br />
Any way, so this last week I decided that I wanted to hand make some of my gifts, great timing hey? its not like working full time, and being a mummy is enough, I now have to put extra stress on my self hahaha<br />
<br />
I had half made emelia a dress for her Daycare Christmas Party, but never quite got round to putting the finishing touches on it, and as it was her party on Friday night, I had to finish it up very quickly on thursday night. Very happy with how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VLFtXiIkRD0/UM7S43uDH9I/AAAAAAAAAV0/Tgxus-f1t8Y/s1600/576383_4739920371243_786203006_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VLFtXiIkRD0/UM7S43uDH9I/AAAAAAAAAV0/Tgxus-f1t8Y/s320/576383_4739920371243_786203006_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Looking pretty pleased with her self! Michael Miller - Christmas Fabric Peace and Firefly in Red by Pillow and Maxfield. Purchased <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/neemerone?ref=seller_info" target="_blank">here</a> </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I also decided to make was some Felt "Paper dolls" Emelia loves dressing and undressing her dolls, but gets frustrated as her little fingers dont quite co-operate with her mind. So I came up with the brilliant idea of making some felt dolls and clothes to go with them.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LmEADDzEiGM/UM7Pw8EWLUI/AAAAAAAAAVI/MSZpatES-4A/s1600/543807_4730342891812_1150624811_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LmEADDzEiGM/UM7Pw8EWLUI/AAAAAAAAAVI/MSZpatES-4A/s320/543807_4730342891812_1150624811_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I drew the patterns, then cut them out of felt. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QvKp_qPAZl4/UM7PzNivgtI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/XYWCeKBqc0M/s1600/20525_4730412933563_21033477_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QvKp_qPAZl4/UM7PzNivgtI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/XYWCeKBqc0M/s320/20525_4730412933563_21033477_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A set for Emelia and a set to gift to her daycare </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oqxW-zb-Clo/UM7P2iTEKBI/AAAAAAAAAVY/ZwSwKd691hs/s1600/548569_4735336816657_274990159_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" eea="true" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oqxW-zb-Clo/UM7P2iTEKBI/AAAAAAAAAVY/ZwSwKd691hs/s320/548569_4735336816657_274990159_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Emelia found the daycare set, at least I know she will enjoy this present!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I drew the patterns up, If I can figure out how to upload them to the computer I will pop them up as a PDF so if you want to make them, you can just print the patterns out. I just used felt, so there was no sewing needed. I am considering sewing the hair on, as its a bit painful trying to find those bits all the time!<br />
<br />
Next I decided to make a rag quilt, I ran out of wadding about half way through, otherwise I would have finished this last night.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My little helper - what a rat bag! </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I am loving this project so far, love the colours! I dont know if I want to give it away :-/ I have used a lovely soft flannel on the back, and 100% cotton wadding, its so soft and snuggly! <br />
<br />
I will post a picture when it is all finished, and raggy!<br />
<br />
I still have a few projects I want to tackle before christmas, but I have nearly 2 weeks off over Christmas and New Year, so if I dont get them done in time, I can always do them in my break!<br />
<br />
hope you all have a lovely christmas!<br />
<br />

I carry some VERY strange things around in my handbag..... <br />
<br />
So it got me thinking, what are some strange things that you carry around in your handbag? We all have the typical things like, purse, keys, makeup, perfume, sanitary items, pen etc but what would stand out in your bag?<br />
<br />
Currently I have:<br />

I think of things to write about, then I think to myself, no one would want to about read that, its boring. I have some friends who are awesome bloggers, some blog nearly every day, they say to me "just blog about anything, it doesn't matter" So that's what I intend to do! <br />
<br />
Sorry to those people who signed up for updates on my business "Milly and Mummy" I am not really concentrating on that at the moment, I am back working full time, and plus a mum to a gorgeous 2 year old, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.... I just don't have time to run a business as well! <br />
<br />
So... what is this blog going to be about? well I thought that it might be a good place to share my crafty projects, tutorials, and just a general blog about my life! So I thought I would treat you to tutorial on how to make these lovely prints. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_M0JDMjB-ko/ULwDH2eb3-I/AAAAAAAAAS0/TOdteZjwyBw/s1600/better+pic.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_M0JDMjB-ko/ULwDH2eb3-I/AAAAAAAAAS0/TOdteZjwyBw/s400/better+pic.JPG" tea="true" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made this one for a Secret Santa gift, but it has found a home on my bookcase! Lucky they are so easy to make, I can just make another!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What you need:</div>
<ul>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
An old Dictionary or Encyclopedia - the older the better, I found mine in a op shop, it cost me $1</div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A printer</div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
Image, you can join sites that have free vector images, or just google it :-) I found this one by googling "Dandelion Sillouette" </div>
</li>
<li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Nice frame, this one came from the reject shop and cost me $4. Its a good idea to take you dictionary/encyclopedia along with you when you buy the fame, just to make sure your frame isn't too big. </div>
</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Method</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tear (Yes TEAR) a page out of your Encyclopedia, I am sorry to all the book lovers out there, I promise this was an old unloved Encyclopedia with outdated information!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z6keGS_p88E/ULwFEEG0jyI/AAAAAAAAAS8/If0KQ5I0DY4/s1600/tearing+page+out.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z6keGS_p88E/ULwFEEG0jyI/AAAAAAAAAS8/If0KQ5I0DY4/s320/tearing+page+out.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="left">
Trim the edges of the page up so it goes through the printer nicely </div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UK6ucKR1bXU/ULwFoCnxb-I/AAAAAAAAATE/XvwcBMLORQA/s1600/cuttingpaper.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UK6ucKR1bXU/ULwFoCnxb-I/AAAAAAAAATE/XvwcBMLORQA/s320/cuttingpaper.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now place it into your printer</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aG3HlFzMxQk/ULwFyOdL0dI/AAAAAAAAATM/mcwS0X22Auo/s1600/printer.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aG3HlFzMxQk/ULwFyOdL0dI/AAAAAAAAATM/mcwS0X22Auo/s320/printer.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">you may need to play round with the orientation, I ended up putting the paper in "landscape" way, but forgot to take a picture :-)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Next you need to pic a picture, I then just used the default printing program (sorry but I am not a computer savvy person haha)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kb0yf-jGHJ8/ULwGgYqItaI/AAAAAAAAATU/Ugzo0QLiw08/s1600/computer.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kb0yf-jGHJ8/ULwGgYqItaI/AAAAAAAAATU/Ugzo0QLiw08/s320/computer.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And you have your picture! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mrjFEDVXkAA/ULwGsREvbaI/AAAAAAAAATc/48kt6VB-Lzg/s1600/unframed+print.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mrjFEDVXkAA/ULwGsREvbaI/AAAAAAAAATc/48kt6VB-Lzg/s320/unframed+print.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I then used the guide that comes with the frame to cut the print to size<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aLtDMVEW-zc/ULwG4YcWzbI/AAAAAAAAATk/FTYi6O1dEMY/s1600/cut+guide.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aLtDMVEW-zc/ULwG4YcWzbI/AAAAAAAAATk/FTYi6O1dEMY/s320/cut+guide.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And then framed it up! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YJrxDUJmPT8/ULwHDN8VIQI/AAAAAAAAATs/h-54jETLiyQ/s1600/framed+print.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YJrxDUJmPT8/ULwHDN8VIQI/AAAAAAAAATs/h-54jETLiyQ/s320/framed+print.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
And there you have it a cute little Secret Santa gift that only cost $5! <br />
<br />
I also made some nativity scene frames, to hang on my wall<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n_rEUJjmkGo/ULwHfzcAgXI/AAAAAAAAAT0/sTOVgEPU98I/s1600/nativity.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n_rEUJjmkGo/ULwHfzcAgXI/AAAAAAAAAT0/sTOVgEPU98I/s320/nativity.JPG" tea="true" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">just got to frame these up!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
If you make any of these, let me know, I would love to see your versions!<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"> </div></div>Today I am linking up with Kat over at <a href="http://www.mummastimetocreate.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">A Mumma's Time to Create</a> for her Nosey Parker in the Neighbourhood Linky Party! I have missed the first couple of blog posts, but thought I would join up from now on. Number 3 is all about sewing, so here goes!<br />
<br />
1) How long have you been sewing? Are you a first generation sewer or was the knowledge handed down to you? Basically tell us about your journey...<br />
<br />
I have only recently picked up sewing, roughly about 6 months ago, I have always wanted to sew, and have had a little sewing machine for about 7 years which I probably used about 7 times! I just never had enough confidence to sew anything. When I had my daughter Emelia, I became aware of the handmade community and would buy pretty outfits from WAHM's for Emelia. I have always been very crafty and started out making pretty headbands and embelished singlets/onsies, then after joining pinterest and seeing all the tutorials for making gorgeous clothes, I decided I would give it a go! <br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QF_NGNAclXk/TyPFfy-mN0I/AAAAAAAAAQc/OnsmBbOJEwc/s1600/123.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="268" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QF_NGNAclXk/TyPFfy-mN0I/AAAAAAAAAQc/OnsmBbOJEwc/s320/123.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">First 2 Dresses I made! </td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
2) Where do you sew?<br />
<br />
I am very lucky to have my own sewing space. It used to be our Theater room, but as we never used it I claimed it for my sewing room! It is quite a nice big room, with lots of space to stetch out! <br />
<br />
3) What does your sewing room/area look like today in it's real state. Take a picture of it if possible and show it to us real :)<br />
<br />
I just re-arranged my room, to give my self some floor space, as I have recently taken up quilting and I needed some room to lay out my quilts.<br />
<br />

5) Do you always stick to the "rules" when you sew, or are you more improvisationally minded?<br />
<br />
Bahahahahaha RULES??? I NEVER stick to rules, if there is a quicker/easier way of doing something I will find it haha. I am ALWAYS changing patterns to suit me. <br />
<br />
<br />

She is so much fun though, most afternoons we cuddle up together on the bed or the couch and have lots of giggly bouncy fun! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UYttiYvRKMQ/Tx4loDYn-cI/AAAAAAAAANs/xwQYVk3CcPE/s1600/DSC_6805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" nfa="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UYttiYvRKMQ/Tx4loDYn-cI/AAAAAAAAANs/xwQYVk3CcPE/s320/DSC_6805.JPG" width="212" /></a></div><br />
BUT as she is growing up I really need to find things to stimulate her, and keep that clever little brain learning. We read her lots of books, she LOVES books, she will sit on your lap and listen eagerly and when the story is finished she wants you to read it again! Some of her favorite books are ones with lots of animals and babies in them, she will point at the animals and say "bird" or "eooowww" (cat) <br />
<br />
She also LOVES singing and dancing, she will stop mid-play if an add come on telly with music background and dance along! hehe too cute! But most days Im stuck for what new things I can do with her. When I was on <a href="http://pinterest.com/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> the other day, I saw someone had pinned "101 things to do with your toddler: so I followed the link, and was taken to <a href="http://counting-on-me.blogspot.com/2011/05/101-things-to-do-with-your-toddler.html" target="_blank">this blog</a>.<br />
<br />
They give a load of great activities to do with you toddler, So my goal is to try all of these activities as least once! If I remember I will take photos, and then post the successful ones! Some sound like HEAPS of fun! Especially the last one hehehehehe<br />

Im stuck.... I need inspiration... It just cant seem to get my mojo flowing at the moment, I look at all this pretty fabric sitting on my shelves, and I know I need to sew A LOT for some up coming markets, but I just dont know what to make. Its like Im waiting for some fabric to jump out and me and say <br />
<br />
"make a size 6 Mia romper from me" <br />
<br />
lol wouldnt that be awesome? If a fabric actually told you what needed to be made from it? Sometime I get a fabric and go - YES, I know EXACTLY what needs to be made from this - but at the moment all I have is piles of pretty fabric :-/ <br />
<br />
I think I just need to suck it up and sew. <br />

I also love spending a ridiculous amount of time looking through <a href="http://pinterest.com/" target="_blank">Pinterest </a>, it is such a great place to find links to tutorials for ALL sorts of things, plus its great for inspiration!<br />
<br />
where do you get your inspiration from?<br />

I usually post once or twice and then forget about it! But I'm happy to say, so far I have lasted just over a month and blogged 8 times! (this blog makes 9 woohoo) great record for me! <br />
<br />
I have never been good at keeping a diary either... I have a friend who has a diary every year and writes every little thing down in it, and when she can't remember something, she just pulls her diary out and there it is! <br />
<br />
A friends daughter asked me today what Emelia's first word was and I was shocked to realise I don't remember :-( how sad is that? She is only 16 months old!! Of course if I kept a regular diary, then I could check that! <br />
<br />
This is going to be my new years resolution, keeping this blog regularly updated and keeping a diary. My hubby bought me a lovely diary for Christmas, so in this I can write what custom orders I have, dates of markets, and other important things! <br />
<br />
What are your resolutions? I have always wanted to do something to help disadvantaged children, but I just didn’t know what... I don’t know how to build, so there goes helping to build Schools and Churches. I have no Teaching Degree, so there goes teaching the Children. I’m not a Nurse or a Dr. I just didn’t have any skills to help these children, except my Christian Faith, My love for God and my heart for young Children. I have had on my heart for some time now that I needed to do something to help disadvantaged Children, especially Children from 3rd world countries, when I found out about this Charity; I knew it was from God! I know how to sew, and I suppose I am quite good at it, it is a skill that has been given to me by my Heavenly Father, so now I can do something with that skill to help these wonderful Girls! </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", "serif"; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-AU;"></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><br />

Created an event from my own facebook page, and shared it with everyone I knew, hoping to get donations of fabric and possibly some Dresses. A couple of Days later, a lovely lady called Karin, commented on my post and we got chatting, She was also very passionate about this cause and we decided that we should try to make this event REALLY work! Soon the 20 or so dresses that I wanted to make turned into 100 dresses, and now a few days later, that even seems like a too easy goal! Shall we go for 200? We have over 20 people attending our event so far, which is booked for the 24th of March 2012. We need to find a venue, and of course we need donations of fabric, and money to get this thing off the ground. We are looking into having a few fundraising events to pay for posting the dresses, fabric, cotton, bias, elastic, hire of a venue, tea and coffee for the sewer's and food for the sewer's. </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", "serif"; font-size: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-AU;"></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><br />

I have had these designs in mind for some time now, but have just been unable to get time to make them! <br />
<br />
Well on the weekend we were heading out to our Church's Carols in the Park, and I just wanted my little Miss to have something pretty to wear. So I got out some BEAUTIFUL Tanya Wheelan Fabric that I ordered some time ago, and havent had the chance to use yet. This Fabric is not christmas Fabric, but I thought it would make a gorgeous Christmas Dress<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d-gDeXCEFIk/Tua7jEGiQEI/AAAAAAAAAF8/df2nL72_dPQ/s1600/il_570xN_198820318.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" oda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d-gDeXCEFIk/Tua7jEGiQEI/AAAAAAAAAF8/df2nL72_dPQ/s1600/il_570xN_198820318.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Tanya Wheelan - Delilah</td></tr></tbody></table> I used a Lil<a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLilyBirdStudio" target="_blank">y Bird Studio </a>Pattern, that I bought from <a href="http://www.patternsonly.com/" target="_blank">Patterns Only</a>. <br />
<br />
and this is the finished product<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5JYKiD6NhE/Tua-1imjNvI/AAAAAAAAAGE/2AScWO8o2kw/s1600/christmasdress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="196" oda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5JYKiD6NhE/Tua-1imjNvI/AAAAAAAAAGE/2AScWO8o2kw/s320/christmasdress.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Little Rudolph! </td></tr></tbody></table><br />

<br />
Well when she was born, there was very little hair and what was there was RED!!! (We kinda knew it was going to be red, history of it on both sides - I was fooling my self about the dark hair) The hair that she was born with all fell out a month or two later, and my baby girl was left VERY BALD<br />
<br />

Love my girl xxxxBec Reddickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13063314407353739833noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8239262413119394511.post-56606722045256312442011-12-06T16:56:00.000-08:002011-12-12T21:43:06.075-08:00Change is in the airChange is good right? Usually I LOVE change, I thrive on change, But this change, I'm scared to make. <br />
<br />
I suppose I should explain..<br />
<br />
For awhile now I have been accepting more and more custom orders, my list keeps getting longer and longer, it just seems like I finish a couple of orders and all of a sudden I have a heap more. Now I Love doing custom orders, its fantastic that I get to work with a customer to make something that they and their child will love, BUT (there is always a but isn't there) it unfortunately does not leave me any time to create new designs, and to use all the beautiful fabrics I have sitting on my shelves. If I don't create new designs, then my business is not going to move forward. So I have been umming and arrhing about a solution to this problem. With the help of friends I have come up with a couple of solutions:<br />
<br />
1. I have enlisted the help of a friend (possibly 2) to come on board as admins on my Facebook page, She (or they) will do her best to answer all questions, and just free up some of my time so I don't have to spend it on facebook (even though I'm addicted to facebook)<br />
<br />
2. All custom orders from now on will require a 50% non-refundable Deposit. I have resisted this, but unfortunately I have made up a few orders that have not been paid for after I have made them. This then leaves me with items that I need to reduce the price of to sell. It is also time spent that I could have been making other custom orders. I fully understand if people wish to cancel their order, and will refund the deposit if they contact me before I make their order. <br />
<br />
3. I will be posting daily which orders I am up to. If you are in doubt of what order the custom orders are in, there is a photo album labelled "custom orders list" which has a photo with all the custom orders listed underneath. These are in order of when they were placed. <br />
<br />
4. As of the 1st of January, I will only be taking 2 custom orders a week - You will need to be the first to comment to gain a custom order. This will leave me time to create new and exciting products! I will have a market night once a month, and in the market night I will offer up extra custom orders. <br />
<br />
I hope these changes work to make my business run a little more smoothly! I will also be doing about 7-8 markets next year, so hopefully all my local likers will have the chance to pick up some cute outfits!<br />
<br />
thank you all for your wonderful support! I love you all!!<br />

<br />
On Saturday, we had a lovely lazy morning, with 3 in the bed (Hubby, Emelia and Me) lots of giggles, cuddles and happy memories. When we finally decided to get up, we went for a drive up to Cockburn, and I actually went into spotlight and didnt buy any thing! wowow We then went into a furntiture shop were I found 2 bookcases (on special) that were exactly the right height for my new cutting table. So after realising that I wouldnt fit them into the car with a baby seat in the back, I drove Emelia and Hubby home, then went back up to pick up the bookcases.. Unfortunatley I also stopped in Spotlight... this time I did come out with a few things... hehehe I just cant resist it! <br />
That night we decided to watch the last Harry Potter film, Im sad to say good bye to Harry, Ron and Hermione, I may just have to read the books again! <br />
<br />
Sunday we planned to have a lovely Roast Lunch with the inlaws, So went went to pick them up sunday morning, and we saw that Rockingham had a Fair on, so we spent the morning looking around. Emelia had a great time, she just loves her Granny and Grandad, and Grandad just dotes on her, he will play with her for hours and hours, just letting her wander wherever she wants, and him following her! Its very cute!<br />

<br />
Last week, I went to my quilty friend <a href="http://www.mummastimetocreate.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Kat's</a> place for some company while we both did some monotonous sewing (sewing on labels ehhhh) after about an hour or so we were both falling asleep at out sewing machines out of sheer boardness - is that even a word?... (that and having stayed up late the night before sewing and chatting) I was just about to pack up and Kat decided that she needed to make a pressie for a party that she was going to the next day, after some discussion, she decided on making one of her <a href="http://mummastimetocreate.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-creative-space.html" target="_blank">gorgeous quilted cushions</a>, and as I had LOVED that cushion from the day I saw it, I thought Hrmmm I might just follow along with her! We were both re-energised and set about getting our fabrics together. <br />
<br />
Let me tell you a little secret... I'M NOT A QUILTER.... I sew clothing... children's clothing.... period.... lol.<br />
<br />
I set about using some delicious <a href="http://www.etsy.com/transaction/62071895" target="_blank">lecien fabrics</a> that I purchased from etsy recently, as well as raiding Kats scrap bin.<br />
<br />
this is what I came up with<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ghEx31ebKVg/Ts3kNkj0yzI/AAAAAAAAACU/pIbYi_U3srw/s1600/pillow1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" hda="true" height="279" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ghEx31ebKVg/Ts3kNkj0yzI/AAAAAAAAACU/pIbYi_U3srw/s320/pillow1.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Isn't it pretty? I just love these fabrics</td></tr></tbody></table>So after seeing the finished product and loving it so much...... I decided in a moment of madness, that I'm going to make a quilt for Emelia, for when she goes into a big bed... Am I crazy?? Where am I going to find the time? Oh well, no rest for the wicked!!<br />
<br />
two of the fabrics I chose were found down at my local spot light, but the pretty Lecien is imported, and I don't have enough of it by far, so now I have to source more of that, but I think it will be worth it! and the Emelia can keep is as a special keepsake for the rest of her life :-)<br />
<br />
this is the first block I made<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-E8TxX7ZlXhs/Ts3lVKp3t7I/AAAAAAAAACc/lxs8GUgMJDo/s1600/DSC_5801.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" hda="true" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-E8TxX7ZlXhs/Ts3lVKp3t7I/AAAAAAAAACc/lxs8GUgMJDo/s320/DSC_5801.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I quilted the wrong way, but oh well....</td></tr></tbody></table>And I want the final product to look a little like <a href="http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2011/10/radio-way-quilt-pattern.html" target="_blank">this </a>..... Obviously different fabrics, but you get the drift! <br />
<br />
Any quilting tips greatly appreciated, especially - how to keep my lines straight heheheheBec Reddickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13063314407353739833noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8239262413119394511.post-20624745092944784742011-11-21T22:49:00.000-08:002011-11-21T22:49:10.951-08:00Introductions and Im a Market Girl<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Hello!! </span><br />
